Throughout the year we have some more significant events. I would point out by its more traditional context the organization of the carnival parade which, although not really new but by its uniqueness and the fact that it brings together the county's institutions, represents a very well-attended manifestation both at the level of the actors and the massive presence of the public. and that has progressively gained more significant impact. Folia is also the reference for the performing arts festival in partnership with Jangada (professional cooperative of theater residing in the municipal auditorium) which over the course of several days presents a set of theater, music and dance shows of international dimension whose quality is recognized. This is followed by Foliazinho, which is more aimed at children and youth. In the summer, the community involvement animation projects with a previously defined theme, namely in terms of music and theater, which mobilizes the amateur groups of the municipality, added to a professional structure of national dimension where it is possible to develop a deep, participative and even qualifying work of the agents involved. In the fall we have the Comedies of Laughter humor and laughter festival which has brought to our auditorium the main names in humor nationwide. During the year we have promoted reading through the municipal reading plan, where there is a greater emphasis on the school community in which we commission a work from well-known authors of our children's literature to write an original book whose narratives take place in the county's territory. These books are distributed to students free of charge and students are challenged to continue the story and rewrite and receive book awards that also help in the reinforcement of school libraries.

Culture is a fundamental instrument for the qualification of people, for local development, tourism promotion, strengthening of social fabric, to provide people with access and consumption of cultural goods that in our case are only available in large urban centers. Developing in a municipality in the northern interior of the district of Porto programs where the population has affordable and able to access programs that are only available in major centers is a key element for their quality of life, the consolidation of the social fabric , social cohesion, fostering new tastes, new artistic attire, new aesthetic challenges because culture is a fundamental instrument for the quality of life and for the development of any community. Therefore, through interesting, attractive, recognized quality programs in which people identify, recognize, value and consume each other, it can be concluded that there is a convergence between the responsibilities of a local administration and the expectations and aspirations of the population.

Each event has its own schedule and there are activities and events that attract different types of people. Regardless of the event always has a good adherence to the public. Membership has been increasing as municipal auditorium facilities have to be increased due to the reduced number of seats. The works are already underway and we will increase a hundred more seats beyond all the modernization of the technical system and all the devices available to the event guests. We can say that the path taken has been positive and we have achieved recognition of the population through the growing number of users, attracting and loyal new audiences. The community is also involved in the strategic municipal culture plan that is being implemented and will soon be put into practice where the population will be heard and the opinions for people to add to the definition of the cultural programming of the municipality of. So that all the established dynamics are not only unilateral in character, but also have a reciprocal relationship where the public helps to choose, associate and participate in the programs.
